Trites Maples
A family tradition since 1900 – Yesterday and Today
Meet the many generations of Trites Sugar Makers
The Trites Family has operated the same sugar bush since before 1900. Grandfather Rufus is still remembered in our community today and is quoted as saying “Eat all you want and pocket none”.
Today we continue Rufus legacy and offer ” all you can eat ” taffy on the snow and buckwheat pancakes.
In past generations, Rufus and Lovell grew the buckwheat and the buttermilk came from the family farm.
Today’s generations proudly continue the springtime tradition of creating 100% pure maple syrup with sap from the same trees as previous generations, boiled over a wood fire evaporator.
Our family continues to support New Brunswick farmers by using buckwheat grown and milled in Madawaska County.
